NEW WORKSHOP PROPOSALS
EPHEMERAL FELTED SCULPTURE 3-4 day workshop
In this workshop, the participant will learn how to make a multiple layered sculpture using prefelts. The felt will be very thin and strong with windows revealing hidden layers and colours beneath. Composition including the exploration of positive and negative space will be covered in this workshop.
SCULPTURAL FELT CASTING 2 -4 day workshop
In this workshop, we will be using an object as a resist. Felting over a solid, three dimensional object will be undertaken using prefelts. Small details in the sculpture can be highlighted and techniques for extracting the solid form and the manipulation and sealing of the finished felt sculpture will be explored. The end result will be a thin, hollow and detailed felt piece.
INTIMATE SCULPTURAL FORMS AND JEWELLERY 2 day workshop
In this workshop prefelts will be used to create small felted objects which can be used as jewellery. Carving felt, windows revealing hidden objects, split sculptural cords, chains, loops, felt beads, trapping wire, balls and buttons will all be explored.
SCULPTURAL FELT MASTERCLASS 4 -6 days
This workshop explores the techniques of layered ephemeral felting using prefelts, felt casting, building an armature, felting over solid objects, felt carving, sculptural cords, and using nuno felting in sculpture. Composition and surface design will also be explored.
MEDITATIVE STITCHING PREFELTS 2 -3 days
Making art can be a journey of exploration. This workshop explores the marriage of embroidery and felt. Composition will be a focus as prefelts will be stitched, felted, then stitched again. Building up design, textures and visual imagery created through mark making in thread. Your aesthetic and skills will develop in startling and unpredictable ways.

Sculptural felted garments WORKSHOP
This feltmaking workshop explores the different possibilities of felted garment designs. Creating intricate and original surface designs using nuno prefelts, each student will develop a pattern that suits her own body shape. The main focus of this workshop will be on surface decoration and the manipulation of garment design. All feltmaking levels welcome! 
Felted body wrap WORKSHOP
This workshop develops design skills in making a garment in one piece that is manipulated and molded to adorn the body. Nuno prefelts will be used as surface design, and pattern making in felt will be investigated. All feltmaking levels welcome! |
Painting with wool fibre and fabric WORKSHOP
This feltmaking workshop has two parts, in the first part we will be creating individual designs on fine silk fabric through the application of drawing, stenciling, mono printing and block printing. These fabrics will then be used to create nuno prefelts which will be incorporated into a garment, wall piece or homewares. The focus of the workshop will be on surface design and composition. All feltmaking levels welcome!

In this workshop, a portfolio of many different surface design, textural effects and sculptural techniques will be explored. Each student will create a body of work which can be used as a reference for future projects. All feltmaking levels welcome! |
